        Paintings in this series were conceptualized with Caltech's Dr. Erik Winfree, who commissioned them as gifts for intellectual partners he has had in the course of his work. They were painted with his oversight and regular input.

       The series depicts Winfree Laboratory research, such as DNA self assembly, nanotechnological research, computer science, and computation and neural systems. These paintings are syntheses, incorporating broader scientific concepts, theories, and personality traits, hobbies, interests, etc. of their recipients.
